Is Traveling For You?
Our Projects
I’ve known since I was a child that I wanted to travel the world. I remember how sad I was when an adult told me as a young child that an “adventurer” or “explorer” was not a viable career option in this day and age. I used to obsessed over the pyramids of Giza, Stonehenge, the Amazon Rainforest, the Sahara, just intrigued by its mysteries, beauty, and history.
Until i was in my mid-20s I hadn’t left my own country. Growing up as someone from a very low socio-economic demographic the dream and desire of adventure was always at odds with mine and my families. I lived reality, and it brought me a lot of frustration, envy and sometimes, embarrassment. When people who never experienced that kind of life would ask incredulously why I had never travelled it took a lot of hard work to get to the place where I could even afford to think about travelling outside of Australian borders, let alone travel within them. When I did manage to leave on my first overseas trip to New Zealand, my mind was blown. I wasn’t terrified, but i was filled with this excited anxious energy. Anyone who has travelled, and has set off outside of their comfort zone in search of adventure, and new experiences knows exactly the feeling I'm talking about.
